Is RDC 302/2005 still in force?
No. RDC 302/2005 is a historical reference for the regulation of Brazilian clinical laboratories. It was replaced by RDC 786/2023, later revoked by RDC 978/2025. To evaluate current requirements, consult RDC 978/2025, its amendments and Anvisa guidelines.
Why does the old text still appear in searches?
RDC 302/2005 was used for many years in procedures, courses and support materials. Old documents may remain available for historical consultation. The date and version of each reference must be checked before applying a requirement to the routine.
How to update lab documents
- Find the procedures that cite RDCs 302/2005 or 786/2023.
- Compare the requirement with the current text applicable to your service.
- Review the procedure and record the change, approval, and guidance to the team.
- Preserve version history for traceability.
Replacing a resolution number does not replace this review: the scope and requirements may have changed.
