Our Story
O QualiChart was conceived together by Dr. Silvio de Almeida Basques and Dr. José Carlos de Almeida Basques, one of the founders of one of the first Brazilian companies to develop, produce, and commercialize diagnostic kits for clinical laboratories — Labtest Diagnóstica S/A.
Recognizing the lack of tools for Statistical Process Control, in 1998 computers had already proven to be excellent calculation instruments and were widely available. There were also applicable statistical methodologies valuable enough to assist professionals in internal quality control practice: the Levey-Jennings chart, the Multiple Control Rules (Westgard Rules), and the Coefficient of Variation calculation as a measure of analytical variability.
Created in 1998, QualiChart was developed by Dr. Silvio de Almeida Basques, with the goal of automating the Internal Quality Control (IQC) process in clinical laboratories.
Thus emerged the first Brazilian Statistical Process Control software for analytical processes, for Internal Quality Control.
Being the most widely used quality control software by clinical laboratories to increase confidence in results delivered to patients, QualiChart became the benchmark for Internal Quality Control in Brazil.
